Amer Mohamad

Amer Mohamad is a 23-year-old Syrian photographer who has been based in Russia since 2013. As an architecture student he started doing fashion photography a year after his move to Moscow. In the past he has worked for l’Officiel, Männer, Mannschaft, Beautiful Switzerland and a variety of other magazines.

“Blue Room” is based on the Russian word "голобой ", which is used to refer to “gay”. It serves as the  background against which Amer explores what it means to be gay in Russia, featuring a range of gay men and a diversity of looks, focused on leather. “Blue” serves here as the connecting theme tying all the dots together.
