Neither here nor there. A state of waiting. A time to slow down and give attention to activities we don’t always get around to. A time to quieten our voices and listen to what’s going on inside us. We’re doing this for ourselves, and for each other. 

INBETWEEN – if there’s something Queer People are good at it, it’s living INBETWEEN. Queer People have had to developed a whole culture of living in the unknown, living in the margins, and fighting to survive. All too often, Queer People have had to find opportunities in these limitations.

INBETWEEN can feel like a confined space between two givens. Waiting to be let out, given access to pass. 
Taking cues from our Queer Ancestors, how can we be resourceful and work with what’s in front of us? How do we critique the givens of the past and dream up possibilities for the future? 

We’re INBETWEEN: It’s glaringly obvious what hasn’t worked for us in the past, but are somehow still stuck with much of it — out of habit, from the powers that be, or from an inability to radically re-imagine. Now, IN the BETWEEN, we can dream up what’s ahead of us. What can’t we wait to get back to? What do we want to see grown anew? What wants to arise from this liminal time and space of not-anymore and not-yet? What do we want to leave behind us in the past? It’s a unique moment to clarify and reorient.
 
There will be people and places and spaces and customs we will mourn, but there will also be new things to welcome into the world. Neither yesterday, nor today, nor tomorrow.
