Mathias Vef is a visual artist working in Berlin, after having studied at the Royal College of Arts in London. His work focuses on the area where body and identity meet. He is inspired by people who see their bodies as a kind of speculative material, a tool and process of being and 'becoming', which he can use as material for his own work to deconstruct and rearrange.

A special interest lies on the tipping points of perception, when the mainstream taste gets distorted – or 'hacked‘ like the bodies have been. The digital collages Mathias creates are then ‘hacked‘ anew as he dissolves the prints with the chemical solvent/drug GHB/GBL.
