Søren Drastrup
After moving to Copenhagen, Drastrup mainly used photography as a visual diary for himself and his friends. Relocating to Berlin in 2012 photography became his preferred way of expression and fully devoted himself to the medium. Merging portraiture, fashion and documentary, Drastrup has developed his style of photography. Focussing on capturing honesty, gaining intimacy and piercing through outer facades. As a photographer it is important for him to show diversity and to display the beauty in his subjects. His work is an insight to his personal life and inner thoughts. During the last 5 years, he has done a range of commissioned work and editorials for various magazines. He’s showcased his work in solo and group exhibitions in Copenhagen, Berlin, Brescia, Paris, Bratislava, Moscow, Toronto and Guangzhou.
